Description

The Sukhoi Su-55M (NATO reporting name: Flanker-D), is a modification of the Su-55, incorporating advanced technology from the Su-55S and IFX-35 variant.

The differences from IFX-35C/D are wing tip missile pylons (much like the Flanker family), framed glass canopy, and smaller horizontal stabilizers. There's an optional canard control fin for better super maneuverability (Su-55SM).

Designed and developed by collaborative Sentry Aerospace-Sukhoi-EADS, and built by Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association (KnAAPO), as a result of a direct Request for Tender between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Indonesia (in my own alternate universe).

It is a heavy class, all-weather, long-range strike fighter. Higher percentage of composite material is used for Su-55MKK in comparison to the original Su-55M, upgraded avionics and maritime strike capabilities.
