Description
This one is the tactical air-lifter version. The design includes double-slotted flaps, thrust vectored nozzles, more powerful engines and other systems for shorter landing and take-off distances.
Sentry Aerospace Industries along with Lambda Corporation, began an aggressive program to modernize the Archelons.
The Avionics Modernization Program (AMP) includes upgrading avionics to Advance Global Air Traffic Management compliance, improving multimedia communications, new High-Definition (HD) monitor displays, improving navigation and safety equipment, and installing a new autopilot system.
Another part of the plan is a comprehensive Reliability Enhancement and Re-engining Program (RERP), which includes new Lambda Power LP909 PTV engines, removing engine pylons for better aerodynamics and new auxiliary power units, with upgrades to aircraft skin and frame, landing gear, cockpit and the pressurization system.
The LP909 engine produces more thrust (93,000 lbf (410 kN) total from each engine) than the conventional N-600 engines, which will result shorter takeoff roll, higher climb rate to initial altitude, a significantly increased cargo load, and a longer range between refueling.
The N-600s or C-63s that complete these upgrades are designated N-600V or C-63S Super Continental.
This one is in Royal Air Force 99th squadron livery.
